Children study the theory of hydroponics in the classroom Young City Farmer's Mug
The first, introductory theoretical part of the intensive, takes place in the form of a lecture, where students are introduced to the concept of hydroponics, the features of cultivation in this way, as well as Russian and world trends in city farming.
The second stage of the theoretical part is a visit to a real fully automated farm operating in a continuous growing cycle. Here the guys clearly see how salad, arugula, parsley and dill grow.
At the city farm, students will learn what equipment provides the necessary microclimate for growing, get acquainted with the solution parameters that must be taken into account when growing.
Here on the farm, students study two types of hydroponic systems:
▪️ column type, where the solution is supplied from above onto a technological substrate, feeding the roots of plants fixed in it.
▪️ rack type with NFT system of periodic flooding.
Next time, the guys will have a practical lesson where they will immerse themselves in the activities of a city farmer!
